CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITIES
When it comes to supporting the Church for the long-term future, the charitable gift annuity is one method favored by many. Learn why and calculate your benefits at dioceseofmarquette.planmygift.org/charitable-gift-annuities. Contact Terri for more information at tgadzinski@dioceseofmarquette.org.

LIFE INSURANCE: A POWERFUL, SIMPLE WAY TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL CHURCH
When the original purpose for a life insurance policy no longer applies—such as educating children now grown or providing financial security for a spouse—your policy can become a powerful and simple way to support our work. There are three ways to give life insurance to the Catholic Diocese of Marquette:
  1. Name us a beneficiary of the policy. This gift is as simple as updating your beneficiary designation form with the policy holder. You can designate the diocese, a parish or Catholic school, or other diocesan entity as the primary beneficiary for a percentage or specific amount. You can also make us the contingent beneficiary so that we will receive the balance of your policy only if your primary beneficiary doesn't survive you.
  1. Make an outright gift of an existing policy. You can name us as owner and beneficiary of an existing policy. You may receive a federal income tax charitable deduction and reduce your future estate tax liability. If you continue to pay premiums on the policy, each payment is tax deductible as a charitable gift.
  1. Make an outright gift of a new policy. You can take out a new policy and irrevocably name the Church as the owner and the beneficiary of the insurance contract. This method may be particularly attractive for the younger donor. Whether you make one single premium payment for the policy or pay annual premiums, each payment is tax deductible as a charitable gift.

SEMINARIAN ENDOWMENT CHALLENGE
Now you can DOUBLE the value of your donation! A match is available for all qualifying gifts received by December 31, 2017. Qualifying donations must be new or increased gifts of $1,000 or more, or raised through special fund raising events designated for the program. This challenge incentivizes the endowment-building efforts that started in 2015, continuing the momentum to build this new endowment. The income generated from the seminarian endowment will assist in educating men in formation for the priesthood to serve the Diocese of Marquette. Click here to learn more.
