We strive to provide the best possible Faith Formation Programs for our Parish Family. Of course we can't do this alone and we rely on our parents and volunteers as invaluable resources to continue the journey of faith.

Our programs:

Faith Formation (K-12)

  • Classes for grades K-8 start at 6:30 p.m. and go until 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday night.  Our local Knights of Columbus council is providing dinner for all students in grades K-8 at Sacred Heart School starting at 6:00 p.m. each week.  Classes for students in grades 9-12 are from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m., and they are being fed in the green room at Sacred Heart Church as part of their class each week.
  • Sacramental Preparations: Students in second grade will prepare to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.  Students in grades 10 and 11 will prepare to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.  Weekly Mass attendance is required for all Catholics.  It is especially important for all children preparing for the Sacraments to attend weekly Mass with their family.
  • Please also practice prayers at home and continue to use the materials we provided for "at home" religious education.
  • As part of our commitment to maintaining a Safe Environment Program, all parents must come into the Sacred Heart School to pick up their children at their classrooms.

Adult Faith Formation

  • Alpha is offered for all interested adults every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30.  There is no cost, no stress, and no obligation...just a great meal and an opportunity to discuss life's biggest questions in an open, non-judgmental atmosphere.  You can find out more at alphausa.org.  Adult Bible Study programs are offered as are other opportunities for adult faith formation.  Parish missions and events hosted by our parish and/or the Diocese of Marquette are scheduled throughout the year and are usually advertised in our church bulletin, our website and our Facebook page.
  • Parents of our Faith Formation students are especially encouraged to participate in these programs.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

  • Contact the Faith Formation Coordinator for details: 524-5157.
  • Members of the parish community are always invited to attend. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the Catholic Faith and to update one's understanding of Catholic beliefs.

Youth Rally

  • Events are periodically scheduled for our Junior High and High School students. Details provided in weekly bulletins.

Vacation Bible School

  • Every summer we host a Totus Tuus team for one week to provide a Catholic vacation bible school experience for our students. Information is published in the bulletin and posted in the churches every spring.

GENERAL INFORMATION

We can always use more Faith Formation teachers. Please don't hesitate to contact our office to volunteer.

Students who attend our Parish Faith Formation programs should strive to be known for their Christian courtesy.  Respect for teachers, administrative staff, support staff, volunteers, visitors, and fellow students is essential for the learning environment.

God Bless! See you at Sunday Mass.
