Vision

We, the members of Baraga County Catholic Community, are three parishes in one family. We seek daily for the grace of God poured out in prayer and the sacraments to be the-best-version-of-ourselves both as individual believers and as a fellowship of the Body of Christ.

We seek the lost by our hands-on outreach and unwavering evangelization efforts. Our one aim is to advance the kingdom of God by living the motto of Venerable Bishop Frederic Baraga to do all we do for the greater glory of God, which is the "one thing necessary".

Faith in Action

Curious about the Immaculate Conception?  Here are five presentations that can help answer your questions.  Go to formed.org, sign in, and Search for Immaculate Conception.

“The World’s First Love:  Mary, Mother of God” by Fulton Sheen (Audio)

The Second Greatest Story Ever Told: Understanding Mary’s Role in Your Life” By Michael Gaitley   (Audio)

“Understanding Catholic Teaching on the Blessed Virgin Mary” by Tom Pema (eBook)

“The Woman” (Film)     In the Gospels we hear Jesus refer to his mother Mary as "Woman". This reference should draw our attention to the woman mentioned in Genesis, as well as in the book of Revelation. But who is this "Woman", and why is she so central in the history of Salvation?

“Blessed Duns Scotus:  Defender of the Immaculate Conception” (Film)   The inspiring true story of the holy Franciscan priest and theologian who won a famous debate against the Dominicans in the thirteenth century, in which he defended Our Lady's great privilege of her Immaculate Conception.
