Mission

Growing Disciples -
Seeking the Lost -
Advancing the Kingdom of God
And the greatest of these is Love

Vision

We, the members of Baraga County Catholic Community, are three parishes in one family. We seek daily for the grace of God poured out in prayer and the sacraments to be the-best-version-of-ourselves both as individual believers and as a fellowship of the Body of Christ.

We seek the lost by our hands-on outreach and unwavering evangelization efforts. Our one aim is to advance the kingdom of God by living the motto of Venerable Bishop Frederic Baraga to do all we do for the greater glory of God, which is the "one thing necessary".

Connections With Mary

Connections With Mary

Pope Francis points us to Mary as an ongoing guide to living a merciful life. Mary is the Mother of Mercy "because her entire life was patterned after the presence of mercy made flesh" (Misericordiae Vultus No. 24). From her "yes" to the angel Gabriel at the Annunciation, to a lifetime of discipleship, to her presence at the foot of the cross, Mary is our model in following Jesus in mercy and love.

We have an opportunity to examine more fully Church teaching on Mary, to study her life and example, and draw closer to Christ through our rich tradition of Marian devotions. In 2017, Our Sunday Visitor is focusing on our spiritual mother and the first disciple, in order to grow closer to her son Jesus. To make the most of this 12-month focus, we've developed an easy-to-follow plan for parishes: Gather, Grow, Give and Glorify.
